| Am 1. und 2. September 2001 fand in Sitges, dem spanischen Nobel-Badeort zwischen Barcelona und Tarragona gelegen, die „V. FIRA INTERNACIONAL DEL CA EIVISSENC (5. Internationales Fest des Podenco Ibicenco)“ statt. Für den Samstag waren Jagden mit Podenco-Meuten und Greifvögeln angesagt, für Sonntag die „XVIII Exposición Nacional MONOGRÁFICA DEL PODENCO IBICENCO“, eine CAC-Show, die von den Spaniern jedoch höher eingestuft wird, als irgendeine FCI/CACIB-Ausstellung. Organisatoren waren der spanische Podenco Ibicenco Club „Asociación Española para el Fomento de la Raza del Podenco Ibicenco“ und der Jagdverband Sitges „Societat de Caçadors de Sitges“ mit Genehmigung des Verbandes für das spanische Hundewesen R.S.C.E. |
| Sitges war gut ausgeschildert für die „FIRA“. Die Straße führte weg von der eleganten Strandpromenade, wurde schlechter und schlechter, um schließlich in einen holprigen Schotterweg überzugehen. Immer, wenn wir fast glaubten, es könne nicht mehr weiter gehen und wir hätten uns verfahren, kam das nächste Schild „FIRA“. Hinein in einenNationalpark, wo zwischen den Nadelgehölzen auch Fächerpalmen wuchsen – noch staubiger, noch holpriger. Waren es laut Tachometer auch nur vier Kilometer Fahrt – im Schritttempo auf so einer Piste kam uns die Strecke unendlich vor. Plötzlich geparkte Autos, die erste Gruppe von Menschen, die am Abhang standen und alle wie gebannt ins Tal starrten. Dann tat sich ein großer Parkplatz auf – hunderte von Autos – und die große Bandarole „V. FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC“. Dahinter ein idyllisch gelegenes Anwesen – offensichtlich ein Wurftauben-Schießstand mit Gasthaus und einem Gehöft. Alles war tiptop vorbereitet. Links und rechts der Wege, entlang einer Natursteinmauer waren Verschläge aufgebaut, in denen die Teilnehmer ihre Hunde untergebracht hatten – zumeist Meuten von 10 bis 12 Podencos – insgesamt über 200 Rassevertreter waren angereist. Alle Hunde lagen still im Schatten und ließen sich von den Besuchern bewundern – keine Aufregung, kein Gebell. Viele bekannte Gesichter von „Podenceros“ – Halter und Richter aus den USA, aus Dänemark, Großbritannien und natürlich auch von Ibiza – unterstrichen den internationalen Flair der Veranstaltung und man versuchte – soweit es die Sprachbarrieren zuliessen – mit den Spaniern über ihre Hunde zu fachsimpeln, von deren guter Qualität wohl alle sehr angetan waren. Viele großrahmige, elegante Hunde mit ausgeprägt schönen Köpfen wurden gezeigt – sowohl bei den Glatthaar als auch bei den Rauhaar-Podencos. Fortsetzung in WindhundWelt 3'2001 |
| El 1 y 2 de septiembre la Feria internacional del Ca Eivissenc tuvo lugar en Sitges, un balnerario de lujo, que está entre Barcelona y Tarragona. El sabado hubo cazas con jaurias de podencos y rapazes, y el domingo la XVIII Exposicion Nacional MONOGRÁFICA DEL PODENCO IBICENCO tuvo lugar, una exposición de CAC, pero tuvo más importancia para los españoles que qualquier exposición de FCI/CACIB. El Club Asociación Española para el Fomento de la Raza del Podenco Ibicenco y la Societat de Cazadores de Sitges organizaron está exposicion con la autorización de la Real Sociedad Canina de España. El lugar de la "Feria" estabá bien señalizada en Sitges. Desde el paseo elegante de la playa conducimos por una carretera , que empeoraba kilometro a kilometro . Al final de la carretera habia un camino escabroso de grava. Siempre, cuando pensabamos, que no podiamos seguir y que nos perdiamos, encontrabamos la proxima señal: "Feria". Fuimos al parque nacional, donde crecian palmeras entre las coniferas. Conducimos solamente 4 kilometros por esta carretera escabrosa, pero la distancia nos pareció infinita. De repente vimos coches aparcados y un grupo de gente, que estaban en la pendiente y miraban embelesados el valle. Depues llegamos a un aparcamiento muy grande con unos cientos de coches y una gran senal: FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC. Detras habia un grupo de edificios con una barraca de tiro, un restaurante y una finca. Todo estaba bien preparado. En un muro a lado de los caminos había jaulas, en las que los participantes alojaron a sus perros, por lo común jaurias de 10 -12 podencos. En total más de 200 ejemplares estaban presentes. Todos los perros estabán tranquilamente en la sombra y no había excitación o ladrido alguno. Muchos propietarios o jueces de los E.E.U.U., de Dinamarca, de Gran Bretaña y naturalmente de Ibiza estuvieron allí y subrayaron el ambiente internacional de esta manifestación. Se intentó intercambiar informaciones con los españoles sobre sus perros, hasta donde fuese posible. Los podencos españoles tenian una calidad alta, que entusiasmó a todos los visitantes estranjeros. | On the 1st and the 2nd september in Sitges, a bathing resort between Barcelona and Tarragona, the "V. FIRA INTERNACIONAL DEL CA EIVISSENC" (5th International Ibizan Hound Festival) was celebrated. On saturday there should be hunting events with Ibizan Hounds, eagles and falcons, on sunday the "XVIII. EXPOSICÍON NACIONAL MONOGRÁFICA DEL PODENCO IBICENCO" a CAC Show which has higher range in Spain than a FCI-CACIB. Organized by the Spanish Ibizan Hound Club "Asociación Española para el Fomento de la Raza del Podenco Ibicenco" and the Hunting Association of Sitges "Sociedat de Caçadors de Sitges" with the official permission of the Spanish Dog Breeders Association R.S.C.E.
Many signs in Sitges showed the way to the "FIRA". Away from the nobel resort beach roads the street is signed into the woods and turned more and more in a small desert way. Just when we thought, that we are on the wrong way, the next sign "FIRA" shows us, we are right. The way goes into a National Park with palms growing between - more into the dust and the stones. It was only four kilometers drive, but it seems to be endless... Than suddenly the first parked cars and the first group of people, looking down in the valley, where the first hunting games with ibizans had started. Further on a big parking area with hundreds of cars and a big sign "V. FIRA DEL CA EIVISSENC". Behind this an small farm with a guest house - looking like a trap & skeet-shooting area. Everithing was well organized. On the sides of the way in the shadow of a stonewall there were kennels where the hunters and exhibitors could place their dogs. Mostly packs of 10 - 12 Podencos - all at all about 200 Ibizan Hounds - laying in the shadw and let the people walk by - no barking, no excitement. A lot of "wellknown faces in the podenco-scene", breeders from the U.S.A., from Danmark, Great Britain, Germany and - last not least from the iland Ibiza - showed the international character of this festival. The all tryed to brake the barriers of the different languages and talked to the Spanish breeders about their hounds - and they all say the same "What a high quality standard breed of Ibizan Hounds".
